Time at US Consulate for passport/citizenship
Hello,
I was wondering if anyone can tell me how many hours it takes at the US Consulate to process a citizenship/passport for a baby. On the webpage it says that parents might have to be there all day.. that seems kind of long..
And second question I have is about if anybody has any experience if the child was actually not born in Hong Kong, but in another country (other than US).
Thanks!

getting the passport didn't take all day, but it took a good half day for us. i think it depends on how many ppl are also getting passport stuff done. try to get an early morning appointment.
for babies born outside the US, you'll need to apply for a report of birth abroad. you'll need the baby's birth certificate. the form and application procedure info is on the hk consulate website.

We had an appointment and were there for about an hour. Though my baby was born in Hong Kong. You can make an appointment online. They then sent the passport to us at home about 10 days later. I thought the process was pretty easy actually.
