    Growing things on HK balconies!

Hi there! I thought it would be a nice idea to be able to see something growing on our balcony..

Having wild ideas like cherry tomatoes..herbs..has anyone done much 'balcony' gardening here in HK? I think it would be so much fun for the little ones too.

Please can you all let me know what you think would work well and yield quick results (well at least in a few months!)..

    Thanks!!

I don't have a green thumb, but every time i watch an episode of Jamie Oliver I get motivated to grow my herbs. We've cheated and bought the potted herbs from Great and re-potted them. The only ones that have thrived are basil and mint. I know its not as exciting as cherry tomatoes. I've heard the nursery in Shouson Hill, as you exit from the Aberdeen Tunnel is good for getting herbs and some veggies potted. They may also have the seeds and be able to give you some advice.

I had try to grown cherry tomatoes and cucumber on balcony and roof. It worked!! I think basil and mint are the most easy & quick to grown.
