Any good parenting classes?
Apologies if this has been discussed before, but wondered if any first time mums and dads-to-be have parenting classes to recommend? Thinking here of classes that walk you through the pregnancy and then the first few months? Could either be as partners or separate classes for Mum and for Dad.
We're at fifteen weeks, both first time parents and are due in May 2008, and keen to attend some classes and meet other parents-to-be.
Cheers and thanks :-)

hi
first of all, congratulations.
my husband and i went to annerly's prenatal classes and cannot reccomend them highly enough. we learned so much about what options are out there and what to/not to expect, and got to meet other first time expectant parents which helped as we learned from their experiences as well. the midwives/professionals that run the classes are amazing women and only encourage you along the way of this great experience. their details can be found on this site i believe.
i have also heard of yvonne heavyside who runs prenatal classes as well as the canossa hospital.
good luck!

arismon> thanks for those recommendations and will check out both of them.
I see that in some of the materials we got from Dr Sally Ferguson (who is doing our scans) there was a brochure for annerly so it seems that is two people recommending them now. Good to know!
Wonder if anyone else had any experience with "Yvonne heavyside" as mentionioned by arismon?
Cheers

I really like Yvonne Heavyside. She is always full of such good advice. She is a health visitor and lactation consultant. She knows all about baby and child care and is a great help with the breastfeeding too. She’s also written quite a few articles for geobaby http://www.geobaby.com/articles/
Her web site is http://www.thefamilyzone.hk/
and contact number is 9887 3235

Hello and just to give an update on this for anyone who it might help, we are attending the Adventist "Prepared Childbirth Classes" They are $1k for four classes on Thirsday evenings, 7-9pm. So far they look good introductions and are handy if you intend birthing at Adventist Hospital.
Language changes in alternate months. English in January 2008, Cantonese in February 2008, English in March 2008 and so on.
