Levy
hi..
can anyone help me with my question. Am in the process of hiring a DH to take care of my son. What I read you can pay the levy in full or in 4months installment. What I want to know is can it be paid monthly? I read the immigration leaflet but nothing that say it can be paid monthly. However, I heard from others that it can be paid monthly.Has anyone experience this?

I don't know about paying it monthly but we've always been asked to pay 6mths and immigration will 'remind' you once the six months is up.

Does Immig really remind you? I thought you were supposed to remember on your own. Which made me obsess over forgetting - especially as our prev installment was due immediately after my due date and I was super worried I'd forget in the hectic scheme of things - and then be in trouble with Immig. (What happens if you forget? Is there some penalty that's imposed?)

I only pay when I receive the 'reminder' from the government because I never seem to remember when to pay.

If you miss a payment then you have to pay the entire amount at once! I am just going to send them a post-dated cheque for the July instalment as I know I'm going to forget!!

don't think monthly is an option or else they would advertise it.
it's only $2400 if you pay 1/4-ly, so it's not too bad...

I just hired a helper myself, there's definitely NO monthly installments. You get a "notice" in the post from the government to remind to pay up.

Hi
You can pay the whole amount at once or $2400 each quarter. My payment was overdue recently by one month, I went down to the Lam Tin office to pay it and they didn't charge me the whole amount, this was the 2nd payment. You cannot pay monthly either.
