i find that you can buy almost everything at spotlight elsewhere in hk at a fraction of the price....almost everything. it's for the very specialty items that i go there. also, the fact that everything is in one place is kind of nice, no need to go here for this piece and there for that piece.

    Hi Trace,

I think it is worth the trip for the sort of things you are looking for. I went with Robin and it only took about half an hour via MTR then shuttle. Megabox is pretty good in terms of other shops too - there is a B & Q (a little bit like a Bunnings/KMart) and also a whole floor of kids shops!

Also, if you don't find what you are looking for there is an Ikea at the MTR mall!

Try and go on a weekday if possible, I am guessing it would be a bit of a madhouse on the weekend.

    Cheers,

    Rach

I've been on a weekend a couple of times and it was surprisingly fine!

Depending on how much you buy though - the trip back on the MTR might be a little more awkward :)

It's nice for a once in awhile trip...but a long way to travel, I think.

The walk from the MTR to the free shuttle bus takes ages! Not much fun when 8/9 months pregnant!

    I would try Ikea first.

Have been twice on a weekend and it was busy. We actually drove there, but then decided to hop over to Ikea. We took the free shuttle from Megabox, but on the way back the queue was ridiculous so we took a taxi back. Also, the Chinese restaurants get really busy and everyone is pushing to get into the lifts. If you use the escalators you're fine. Spotlight was quiet, compared to the rest of the mall.

I think there's so much hassle to take the free shuttle, especially after buying something and taking the baby, so I'd rather just get a taxi.

You can get everything you want in Spotlight and B & Q, a lot more to see than Ikea.
