Best book for breastfeeding ?
Hi,
I have a friend living in another country, pregnant, planning to BF. I'd like to give her the best advices on BF and as I'm French and she's American, I can't send her my good books. So if you have any good book name about BF that really helped you, that you would really advice, I take it !
Thank you in advance !

I found Clare Byam Cook's book really helpful and balanced -- although the reviews arebn that great on amazon. I agree it would make you feel better about not breastfeeding if you cant but shouldnt that be the case anyway? In any case I've been breastfeeding for 7 months now and intend to until a year and a half and I found this book indispensable the first 2 months or so.

You can also try Dr. Jack Newman's book;

as it sounds good and is known as the guru for breastfeeding.

I would recommend the book The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding. It covers everything you need to know about breastfeeding including:
* How human milk offers lifetime benefits for your baby
* How to prepare for breastfeeding during pregnancy
* How to exercise and lose weight safely while nursing
* How to find time for yourself while meeting baby's needs
* How to increase your milk supply by using herbs and medications
* How to be sure your baby is getting enough to eat
The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding was the first book of its kind, written for mothers by mothers. For over fifty years mothers who have been in touch with La Leche League have found the kind of information and support they needed to breastfeed their babies.
Available from http://www.lllhk.org/Sales.html and

There is likely to be an LLL group near your friend, she can check at http://www.llli.org/
Best wishes,
