Soft Ice 'cube' tray from Ikea - safe?

    Hi

Can someone advise me if the soft colourful ice 'cube' tray from Ikea is safe for freezing baby food. It says it is made of 'rubber'. I thought they are usually made of silicone? If not, where can I buy those silicone ones (reasonable size) at reasonable price?

    Thanks!

    hi all
seen the ones at city super but they seem to be rather small-ish than the 'normal' size ones. i should've checked this thread earlier because we just came back from tung chung where they have taste there!! sigh!
will try at b2b and eugene's.
what is a reasonable price for one of these?
    thanks!

There are bigger ones at City Super (around $42 each). Each cube can hold 1 Tablespoon of pureed food.

This might sound silly, but why it's important to use a silicone tray? I've been making my own BB food for quiet some time and alway use the orginal ice-cube tray from the freezer, after freezing, just remove the cubes to a airtight bag....Am I doing something wrong here? using what kind of material tray never concern me, do I need to worry now??
