Meeting Santa
Hi, does anyone know where (and when) kids can "meet" Santa and maybe sit on his lap for a minute to tell him what they want for Xmas? Thanks!

Pacific Place always have a great Santa. Not sure when he will start appearing though.

If i remember correctly they made alittle park like where u pay to get in and then u take pictures of your kids on Santa. But the price is to get in the little garden like area. But then I might be wrong as have not been here for Christmas for past couple of years

Last year they constructed a proper house. It was fantastic. You pay $80 or $100 I think, get a photo and we took more of our own. I think they give a little present too but I could be wrong.
It's not a dinky operation with a dodgy Santa but something done really well. They fly the Santa in and I remember hearing he is one of the best in the world. No joke, he's seriously in demand!
I'm sure however there are free or cheaper Santas if you prefer just not at Pacific Place.

Pac Place fly him in from Canada from memory. He is very authentic. If you have a platinum Amex card last year you could get into the house for free etc. They take photos, and you can take your own photos as well. Yes, they did give some lindt chocolates as presents.
Not sure if they are doing it this year, as they haven't constructed anything in the mall as yet.
This was the only one we found last year, outside of a santa at the Matilda hospital carols. It wasn't quite the same "quality" of Santa.

I am surprised that Pacific Place need to fly the Santa in. I thought he could take care of that himself - what with his sleigh and all of those reindeer. Maybe the reindeer stipulate in their contract that they will only work on Christmas night....
