Hiring new helper process
Could someone please advise the process of hiring a new helper who is already in HK (she finished her contract). Our current helper's contract is ending on January 15th 2008. can we process the application of the visa/ contract for the new helper immediately before our current helper's visa ends? Thanks in advance for your advise.

As far as I know, it's OK to process the visa for the new maid but the new maid is supposed to go home for the 6wks or so while the visa is being processed so the earlier you process the new visa, the sooner you'll have the maid working for you.

The new helper is finished contract, she has to go back to Philippines to process the visa? i thought only terminated contract helpers need to go back home?

The new helper doesn't have to go home. They will give her two, 12- month visas. Hence she has to go home within the 1st year.
You should be able to process your new helper's contract immediately.
I remember seeing something on one of the forms that you need to tick if you're replacing an existing helper.
