    Is butter OK?

My baby is now 9 months old and I was wondering if it's OK to use butter in his food.

a VERY little would be ok. it isn't really necessary at such a young age.

Thanks! I was just wondering because a lot of the baby recipes by Annabel Karmel included butter in it.

she wouldn't put it in if she didn't think it was ok. again, they are small amounts and everything in moderation is ok.

butter is better for a child than margarine is.

Babies till the age of 2 yrs, need a high fat diet to fuel their rapid growth. So full cream milk, regular yogurt, cheese, butter, avocado etc etc are all very good for them.

I love Annabel Karmel and one of my most used cookbooks are hers. When I follow what she says my kids are 80% sure to eat the meal!

The only thing I differ with these days is using more pureed veg when I can so as to hide bits!
