Chinese Herbs (confinement) & Breastfeeding
Dear ladies, not sure if you have experience in this ... my Chinese confinement lady has asked me to prepare a list of chinese herbs for my confinement period. Some of the herbs are very 'strong' like Ginseng, Deer Antler, Cordicep etc. I figure these herbs will 'get to' my breastmilk (pls correct me if I'm wrong) and if it's ok for the little one to be taking breastmilk infused with these chinese herbs.
Anyone with experience with Chinese confinement diet and breastfeeding? Thank you very much in advance.

Hi Obiwan,
I hired a Chinese confinement lady and I was breastfeeding for about 6 weeks. During the 6 weeks, I didn't have much stong Chinese herbs and I wasn't allowed to eat seafood and beef.
In general, a good confinment lady will tell you what you should / sholuld not eat according to 1. natural birth / c section, 2. breast feeding / formula and also your body type and conditition.
