    Any helper(s) with god reference? Needed by Feb10

    Hi all,

    Our helper has just resigned due to health problems and we're urgently seeking a replacement. We wonder if there's anyone who is leaving Hong Kong in Jan or Feb10, who wishes to recommend their helper(s)?

    Details are:
    - I myself is Hong Kong Chinese, and my husband is English;
    - 2 kids - 4 year-old girl and 1-year-old boy;
    - 2 dogs - small Jack Russell and a big poodle
    - living in a 3-storey village house with a garden, so we ultimately will need 2 helpers. So would be great if the helper has a close family member who would be willing to work together
    - we have a decent size helper room with a bunk bed so the 2 helpers will share the same room

    The helper(s) must love kids, be very patient, not afraid of dogs, independent in terms of grocery shopping and meal planning, attentive to details, advantageous if having a HK driving license but not a must. Reference from former employer(s) required and we need to speak with them.

    Many thanks!

    hi jessie

    sorry to hear your helper was ill.

    would you consider a married couple? i would imagine there would be many couples interested in this position, it sounds ideal.

    something to take into consideration is salary. when we were looking to hire a helper with a driver's license, we learned their salaries tend to be higher.

    i know of a couple whose employers just moved back to australia. i will ask them if they are interested. they are two females. i think they wanted to stay on hk island, but there's no harm in asking. they have fantastic references.

    GOOD LUCK.

    Hi Dim Sum Mum,

    Thanks very much for your reply.

    Actually we don't rule out the possibility of having a couple work for us, provided that the male can also help look after the children, clean the house or even cook. Being able to drive is an advantage but not necessary for us. We do understand being able to drive in Hong Kong would mean a higher expected salary. In our case, we won't need the helper to drive that often, maybe just to drop us off to the MTR station a few times a week or so. So we may as well just take a cab!

    Please do help ask the 2 female helpers that you know if they're interested. It'll be great if we can hire both at the same time! Many many thanks!!!
