    besides woodlands?

    besides woodlands?
hi all. My son will be 1yr in Jan (its amazing how quickly it goes by) and I'm planning to send him to Woodlands preschool at Scenic villas (pokfulam) when he's 18mths old. This is accompanied by me, a stay home mum

The plan is only 2 X a week, an hour each time.
Cost is $2000 monthly for this.

I really just want him to socialise and for us to have some structured activities and for the helper to have more time to clean/ cook! its hard to get anything done when he's at home. He's very active!

I'm also currently taking him to Swim classes (1xweek) and 1 other activity ( eg Gymboree type)

my issue : for $2,000 a month, are they other playgroup/ school options that i can consider within the Pokfulam/ Central area? it just feels like a lot of money to spend... anything cheaper / different that I've yet to consider?

i dont know of anything else.

I used to take my children to the Preschools Playgroup Association (PPA) on Borrett Road.
PPA's main web site is http://www.hkppa.org/
and the playgroup at Borrett Road's website is http://www.citykidshkppa.org/

We used to go to Baby Buddies in Sheung Wan. I really liked it there but can't recall how much it was a month. If you do a search you'll find them. We went once a week for 2 hours and it was an accompanied class so a parent/helper had to go with the child. Some people recommend Panda Junction in Soho but I thought it seemed very expensive and a shorter class too.

PS unfortunately anything to do with childen in HK seems to be expensive in my experience

You could also check out Union Church Playgroup which is on Kennedy Road at the end closer to Central. They have mother and helper playgroups on different days. Here is the link: http://www.unionchurchhk.org/content/view/52/90/. This term (1 Sept - 17 Dec) costs $2550 for a 2 hour session once a week.
