Cream of Tartar--I think HK ran out!
Folks, I've been to two City Super Stores, an international Park n' Shop and the local Wellcome stores and apparently there is a HK-wide cream of tartar shortage! I just need a tiny bit of the stuff but I can't find it anywhere. Everywhere they say, "Oh, sorry, just out...we have no knowledge of when we might have some." So, I'm asking if any of you know of a place that for sure has it for sale and if not, can someone lend me like a Tablespoon of it?

hmmm... unusual. I tried the parknshop online shop and, you are right, they do not have cream of tartar. I have some in my cupboard dr. oetker brand. I can give you some but I think I may be too far from you as I live in Tseung Kwan O (Hang Hau MTR)

Hmmmm...Tseung Kwan O, Repulse Bay....I live in a village near Shenzhen Bay, working full-time with a 3-year-old and am 1/2 way through a second pregnancy. I just don't know what's up with the shortage of cream of tartar. Must be holiday baking season or something. I probably won't be going to Repulse Bay to buy any--really don't have the time or energy--sorry. :( But, everyone keep your eyes open and if you see some on a shelf somewhere, buy it for me and I'll pay you back double, okay? Thanks!

Did you call Complete Deelite? They might have some. I picked mine up from City Super in Causeway Bay. But that was a while ago.

I don't know how close/far this place is to you.
http://www.bakingwarehouse.com/2004-04/address.asp but you might try them to see if it's in stock. . . looking at it online it seems to be available.http://www.bakingwarehouse.com/2004-..._03.asp?cat=14
OR try this one. They have 3 locations.
