    Job Duties for Helper

Curious to know what your helper does for your baby. Appreciate any schedule anyone has created for their helpers.

    -plan and prepare meals
    -prepare shopping lists
    -diaper changes
-laundry, incl: washing, drying, folding, ironing, putting away, hand washing
    -bathing
    -cleaning the house
-picking up and dropping off at school
-administering medicine (if i am not home)

obviously, these things are done as and when needed. not everything is done everyday...

    Simple answer:
    When I working - everything
When I'm not working - nothing

But of course she does all the housework like washing/ironing/etc.

housework when I am caring for the babies

babies when I am not caring for the babies

preparing the meals (not buying the ingredients) and washing up

her day is from 7:00-9:00 with several breaks in the middle (adds up to about 4hrs)

Leslie, can you give more details of of the "several breaks"? Where does she usually go and how long a break do you give her?

she doesn't go anywhere for her "breaks" per say, just rests in her room...chats with her friends / facebook, might have a coffee break. she has 2 hours in the morning (older kid is at school), and 1-2 hours in the afternoon (1-3pm (both kids nap) and then before dinner time around 4-6 is her tea time. all the housework in finished by noon time, which gives her more down time in the afternoon. if there is more to do, or if she has to take my girls to a playgroup (once a week) then they don't get the afternoon tea time break.

While I'm breastfeeding, my helper doesn't have much to do with the baby. For the older children, she prepares their meals along with the adults', does the washing, ironing and household cleaning. She doesn't have any specific childcare responsibilities, but will sometimes help to feed the older ones if we're entertaining or otherwise preoccupied so that we can't do it ourselves. She also doesn't have any grocery shopping responsibilities, which we do ourselves.

our helper for #2, does the housework on days where she can (no fixed time as we get the newborn settled), tidies up the nursery and does the afternoon feeds while I nap since my older one naps from 1-2:30pm. She gives 2 feeds of EMB and it saves me! Actually she is with my older one more since I nurse.
