I have only been to the science museum, but I think it would be a big hit with a 4 year old boy. My own toddler has lots of fun there, and he can't even fully do or understand everything. It's a great place for kids. And Wednesday is free.

i agree with the science museum, though i will say i was VERY disappointed with it. it was Ok, but even the one in little Regina, Saskatchewan (population <200,000) was better than the one here...

Oh my god, there's no doubt the HK science museum is the more appropriate choice compared to the HK space museum.
I visited the space museum for the first time several months ago with my wife and it was the worst $20 I've ever spent. The exhibition hall was tiny and all the exhibits were either broken or ancient. There's absolutely nothing interactive other than that weird gyroscope thing.
Seriously, if you're thinking about going to the HK space museum, you're better off walking a few minutes over to Apollo by the Star Ferry pier and buying your child a frozen yogurt. It's a couple of bucks more expensive than the museum admission, but at least your child will thank you for it.

We like the Railway Museum up in Tai Po. The boys run around on the tracks and get to climb aboard all the old passenger cars.

We finally went to railway museum yesterday, my boys love it and asking us to go back there again next week. They had fun running around the tracks.
