Just curious - when did others who take baby swimming start doing this? My first was born in winter and then came to the HK winter so for the first year swimming really didn't occur. My second was born this summer and up until now we would swim 3-4 times a week at our nearby hotel swimming pool. But I'm not sure when it is appropriate to take baby in? The water is usually about 32 C so it's not cold. Right now she is only just over a week old so it's not happening yet, but I'm wondering for future reference?

You can take them in at any time. My first born was born in October when it was getting cold already, but we were back in Australia for Christmas and she loved swimming at 2 months old. My 2nd born didn't swim until she was about 6-7 months though. Some babies have sensitive skin so just make sure first that they don't react to the chlorine (maybe dip their toes in but don't take them swimming the first time) - and also you need to be EXTRA cautious about sunburn with babies as well - and also just watch that they don't get too cold... but there's no reason why you can't take them swimming at a young age, provided you take all the necessary precautions :)
