Infant CPR at St John Ambulance
Hi, I was wondering whether any moms/moms to be have taken the infant CPR classes at St John Ambulance. Or do you have any other recommendations for infant CPR?
Thanks!

I've done the Matilda course and it was ok. It's the 2nd first aid course that I've done and was not as comprehensive as the first (which was an independent course in Australia). My husband has done a St John's course in Australia (not infant) and also found it far more comprehensive than the Matilda Infant course - but being an "infant" course, they touched on many childhood illnesses/common injuries/babyproofing your house that we didn't do in our other course.
PERSONALLY - I would rather do a full adult first aid course next time, just because I think it covers more stuff - but if you haven't done first aid before or if you specifically want to learn about childhood illnesses/how to baby proof your house etc, then an infant one is a good starting point. A good full CPR course also covers how to do CPR on infants and children as well.

Agree with nicolejoy. I have done the full CPR and First Aid course at St. John's. They anyway cover infant CPR and first aid. It's very comprehensive. They also have the plastic bodies with respond to CPR in both adult and infant sizes. You have to practice on those and they correct you for mistakes. Te session was quite good.

Out of curiosity, how much does St. John's charge for the infant CPR course?

Thanks for all the replies! The infant CPR class in HK is $170 per person. I'll just give it a try since it's pretty cheap anyways. Will provide an update after the class in Oct.

The one I'm enrolling for in Oct will be in English. They may have Cantonese classes as well.
