Childs bed with storage or play area underneath

We're looking at transitioning from the cot to a bed sometime in the next few months and I'm thinking of getting a higher one with some useful storage or play area underneath. I don't really want a Disney themed one if I can possibly avoid it ;-)

I'll probably do the trek round Horizon Plaza this weekend, any shops I should look out for there or any anywhere else that you'd recommend?

With a high bed be mindful to have rails up lest the little one falls off ...

Some of the Ikea ones aren't very high. We bought a bunk bed.

I, and several friends, had something made at Jade Rattan on Wanchai Road. It's either wood or painted (in any color you like) MDF. I had a bunk copied for less than $5000 in dark blue. My friend had Pottery Barn Kids single beds copied in wood. More expensive than IKEA, but not by too much and slightly different (and not even close to Disney, with you on that one!). Ask for David as the rest speaks no English.

There is a place called Art Deco along Queens Road Central opposite Hopewall Ctr in Wanchai leaning towards the indoor Wanchai market...they have some cool looking beds...a bit pricey but worth a look though.
