cod liver oil
Hi,
I am wondering what kind/ brand of cod liver oil do you use for you little ones or for the entire family?
I went to the pharmacy to buy Scot cod liver oil, but the sales staff told me to get VITA brand as it is suppose better?? And she said Scot has heavy advertisements for its popularity.
I tried reading the ingredients, I could barely understood both Vita and Scot's ingredients.
I am looking for a cod liver oil that suitable for adults and kids. Therefore, it doesnt have to be taste like a candy.
Thank you in advance.

I am giving Scott’s Emulsion to my little one.
Actually I was searching on supplements the other day, and found this article: http://mumsgather.com/2009/08/05/fis...l-supplements/. It might give you some idea about what to look for.

Rani, how did you mix it with juice? I got the orange flavor one, and tried to mix it with water once... but the stuff would just float on top of the water and would not mix....

I've been using Barlean's with my son and it has really helped his health. He had this terrible cough for a really long time and his skin was looking a bit pasty but the fish oil has helped a lot. I think Udo's is also a good choice and you can administer it to your child by weight. I think you can use the adult version of Barlean's and also administer it by weight--it tastes really lemony and so my son gets a spoonful of it and then he eats some raisins or sweet fruit to counter the sour.
How much of your oil blend should we give to children?
Administer the oil in proportion to weight. If you weigh 100 pounds and use 2 tablespoons each day to get soft, velvety skin, a 10 pound child should take about 1/10th as much as you. However, because children are more metabolically active than grown-ups, they may need a little more oil than is proportional to their weight.
An approximation of the amount may also be calculated by giving one teaspoon (5 ml) of the oil per each 7 kg (15 lb.) of body weight. A child of 7 kg would take one teaspoon per day, whereas a man of 70 kg would use 10 teaspoons (50ml) per day.“Many women have described their experiences of childbirth as being associated with a

Also, we like these brands because the way they are processed guarantees their quality, freshness and potency. I'd prefer to spend a little more money for better results and we're not exactly drinking the stuff by the litre so a bottle lasts awhile. Totally worth the money, in my opinion.“Many women have described their experiences of childbirth as being associated with a
