Experienced mums - what is important to look for in an OB?
Question for experienced mums -
Looking back at the whole experience, what would you suggest as important characteristics to look for when selecting an OB?
I have a few ideas (below) but wonder if there may be criteria I haven't thought of as a first-time mum-to-be?
- Won't unnecessarily push for c-section (if you don't want it)
- Expertise in stitching up afterwards
- Patience in answering questions
- Diligence in delving into potential health concerns
- Responsiveness of OB / nurses / midwives to emailed questions
- Whether s/he will be the one actually delivering your baby
- Whether s/he works with specific paediatrician / anaesthesiologist, and how reputable they are
Thanks in advance!
