Maternity Leave
Has anyone had success negotiating with their employer to start their maternity leave closer to their due date than the 2-4 weeks stated by Labour Dept.? Any insights would be helpful as I am experiencing difficult with this.

i think starting approx. 2 weeks is good enough, u don't really want to work all the way to the date u give birth, and also it seems quite common the baby would come out a week or 10 days earlier ( see in other forums...), so u might want to keep as 2 weeks in advance just in case... : )

I've heard of people simply lying about their due date so they can stay right until they go into labour. Not saying it's the best idea, but it's an option.
