| | | HK baby stores We are (finally) coming on a 2 week housing trip. We wanted to stop in some baby stores and compare prices with goods in the US so we can decide whether to buy it in the US and ship it or to buy it in HK.
Looking for larger $$ items like cribs, exersaucers, etc... rather than smaller items like diapers, small toys, clothes, feeding supplies.
What would be the best places to look for such items? We are hoping that there will be a couple/few larger stores rather than a large number of smaller, specialty stores since time will be limited due to the house search. Going to be bases in TST for the 2 weeks, so we should be able to get just about anywhere. |

| | | If you're in TST, check out the lower floor of Ocean Terminal, there's quite a few baby specialty shops there. Or in Prince Edward, upstairs (forget which floor) of Grand Century Place is similar. If you're in CWB, check out the 1/F of Windsor House. Good luck and enjoy HK! |

| | | Thanks, that should keep us busy for an afternoon or two.
Any idea where/if you can buy those Prince Lionheart sit-up chairs? |

| | | Sleuth,
I moved to HK from CA late July and expect to deliver late Oct. If I had known prices were cheaper in the US, then I would've purchase everything there prior to the move. As I will be moving to Shanghai early next year, I don't want to purchase bulky items here, so below are items I've looked into purchasing:
1. Kolcraft Bassinet: 1 available at HK Toys R Us, 65usd and it's not my choice
45usd can get you the bassinet of your choice in US
2. Bugaboo Cameleon Stroller: if in stock at MotherCare, 1,200usd
Exact item in US: 875+tax
3. Graco Pack 'n Play: currently out of stock, 187usd
Exact item in US: $99+tax
4. Avent Bottle: 1-4oz bottle only, 4.50usd
Exact item in US: don't know, couldn't find it online
5. Avent Teats: 2 pk, 3.20usd
Exact item in US: don't know, couldn't find it online
If you shop at Costco, Walmart, Target or other similar stores in Atlanta, you'll find that there are way too many options in HK and therefore harder to trust pricing. The quality and price one is used to in the US can be obtained in HK, but with a higher cost.
Good luck,
sylvia |

| | | Thanks for all the shopping info. My company will pay to ship, so I can take the buy-in -the-USA route. Which will be strange because 99% of the stuff is made in China.
Where would I go to buy diapers in TST area? We are bringing 30, which should last 2 or 3 days, but the flight is one day so we will need to but diapers on the first or second day. | All times are GMT +9.
