it's not in tai wo... it's in tai po. i've been to the campus and it all looks great. considered sending my kids there. what stopped me?
    1) price

I know it's a Christian school, but does anyone know to what extent they integrate christianity and biblical teachings in their everyday classroom lessons? Some such schools are little more than religious in name only...how about NIS? My preference would always be for a secular school, but I have heard some good things about NIS and wanted to keep it in mind as an option.

Carang - I thought it was relatively cheap for an international school?

still out of our price range. that's why we've chosen a local gov't school that is designated a school for non-chinese speaking children. my kids will have a choice of cantonese or mandarin for their chinese lessons, and then everything else is conducted in english. we are quite happy with the school we've chosen as we've met quite a few other expat parents who have also chosen this school and not a "brand-name" international school.

best part? the school is FREE!

Lee Siu Yam Memorial Primary School. It is right on the waterfront beside the public swimming pool in Sai Kung.

walnut, i notice you are in DB. I have met expat kids that attend Wei Lun in DB. They said it was VERY difficult for a few months, but the longer they were there, the easier it became. I believe they were from Lebanon...

Carang - fair enough. I didn't actually know that there were local schools for non-Chinese speakers!
